What do you think ‘research’ is?
I think research is gathering useful information and then analysing this information to extract important data. By doing so you can strengthen proposals for ideas, understand new concepts, develop existing concepts among many other things.

Do you think you will ever need research skills?
I don’t think I will ever need research skills, I know I will need it and have already used research for many different things over the years. Some more serious then others. I use research when deciding on big purchases e.g car, phone, laptop and have used it for PFW601 where we had to compose a research proposal. Developing good research skills is very important for more efficient and effective research. With the amount of information available these days it can be challenging to find valid, useful information.

What do you think a research journal is and who is it written for?
A research journal is a journal that records the methods used to gather the information and ideas in the journal which is used to present new ideas.

What is plagiarism?
Taking someone else’s work and or ideas and claiming them as your own with no acknowledgement or reference provided.

Why is it important to avoid it?
It’s theft and not tolerated at all. Apart from that it means you don’t do any of the thinking meaning you won’t gain anything from doing it.
